This is the first high compression motor I have built and was wondering how to break it in . I was always told that you should put a few hundered miles on a new motor to get the rings to seat however thats not going to happen with 13.5 compression . The cam is a solid roller so no need to worry about the cam break in . I was just wondering if I need to do something to help seat the ring . Thanks for any help .

fire it up, get it up to op temp, a few loads on the transbrake, load car, go to track and run the snot out of it.

I did this with all my motors using a plasma moly ring set.

The last 2 bigblocks and last 3 smallblocks were "broke in" on alky.

Runs like a raped ape.

Just like Jon said....if ya have your ducks in a row shouldnt have to worry about the rings seating......just try not to wash the cylinders down with fuel on start up.....D

the basic rule of thumb I use when it comes to breaking in an engine is. quite worrying about it. you should break in the engine just exactly how it will be driven on a regular bases, if your just using it for cruising the mall, then take it to the mall and cruise if your hwy driving it, well then take it out on the hwy but ifyour racing it, then like the others said fire it, warm it up, pull a couple of loaded pulls with it, then go racing. put that foot on the floor.
